EVs may become pricier on depreciating rupee

Nikhil Dhaka, Vice President, Primus Partners, explains that while short-term contracts and import insurance may limit the impact of currency fluctuations on component costs, this is not a sustainable solution. As battery and Battery Management Systems (BMS) make up 50% of an electric vehicle's cost, the industry remains highly vulnerable to long-term currency depreciation, which could raise procurement costs and affect pricing.
