Leaders Roundtable Conference on Integrating Recycling and Economic Growth” was organised on 14 November 2025 at the NESCO Exhibition Centre, Mumbai, by the Regional Centre for Urban & Environmental Studies under the All-India Institute of Local Self Government (AIILSG)
In his inaugural address, Dr. Jairaj Phatak, IAS (Retd), Director General, AIILSG, emphasized India’s need to strengthen the “Reuse–Reduce–Recycle” approach to effectively manage growing waste volumes. He highlighted that the vast stock of collected waste represents a new “gold mine” for advancing circularity.
Primus Partners Played a key role in the conference as the Consulting Partner to the Department of Textiles. The firm actively contributed to discussions on how the textile industry can drive India’s transition towards a circular economy by integrating recycling and sustainability into production and supply chains. Through its participation, Primus Partners facilitated meaningful dialogue between policymakers, industry leaders, and technology providers, identifying areas where the textile sector could enable large-scale recycling, resource optimization, and skill development. Primus Partners engaged with stakeholders on how the textile sector can significantly contribute to this vision.

The discussion focused on –
- Urgent need for proper segregation, collection and disposal of waste.
- Need for behavioural adaptation over segregation of waste at the doorstep.
- Training and capacity building of workers engaged in the waste recycling industry.
- Investment opportunities & need to develop the academic sphere in waste recycling.
The event concluded with networking and detailed group discussion, and B2B interactions to identify actionable collaboration opportunities between Industries, Consulting partners, as well as the Academicians.
