Intel’s revival under Pat Gelsinger: Bold promises, unmet expectations
05-12-2024
Devroop Dhar, Co-Founder and Managing Director, Primus Partners, shares his view on the shift in the semiconductor industry. He highlights that when Pat Gelsinger took over as Intel’s CEO, the company’s market cap was around 30-35% lower than that of NVIDIA. Today, NVIDIA’s market cap is approximately 35 times larger than Intel’s, and Intel’s stock price has fallen by 60-70% from its 2021 high. Recently, NVIDIA replaced Intel in the Dow Jones Industrial Average, a clear indication of the shifting dynamics.
